The University Compliance Office was created in May of 2004 with the appointment of the University Compliance Officer, who reports directly to the University General Counsel. The University Compliance Officer is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of FIU’s Institutional Compliance Program.
The Institutional Compliance Program has been designed and presented to various constituents within the University community including the University’s Operations Committee, Academic Deans, the Faculty Senate Steering Committee and the Finance and Audit Committee of the Florida International University Board of Trustees. The University Compliance Officer reports to the Finance and Audit Committee at each of it’s meetings regarding progress made in the implementation of the overall Program as well as ongoing institutional compliance initiatives and projects.
