The University Compliance Office is dedicated to ensure that the University abides by applicable federal and state laws and implementing University regulations and policies that protect the privacy and confidentiality of personally identifiable information.
The University Compliance Officer works in close collaboration with the Information Technology Security Officer in assessing the viability and strength of the administrative, physical and technical safeguards in place to secure personally identifiable information in all formats: on paper, electronically, and verbally.
As a member of the FIU Community of faculty, staff, students, patients and volunteers, it is vitally important that you let us know as soon as possible if you discover, or become aware of, a privacy or security incident that involves sensitive information.
